Our Call to the Left for Parliamentary Elections
In Türkiye, despite their differences in views, left wing-socialist-communist parties that advocate for secularism, independence, and a social system based on state ownership have the chance to overcome the election threshold, which has been preventing the representation of workers in parliament for years, by forming an election collaboration.
The Communist Party of Türkiye calls for the formation of an electoral alliance with all revolutionary forces in line with our historical values and principles that have been filtered through the struggles waged for decades around the world and in Türkiye.
As a component of the Collaboration of Socialist Forces (SGB), the TKP will do its part to create an independent electoral alliance of the left by urging all revolutionary forces that are part of the Labor and Freedom Alliance or not part of any alliance yet when there is an opportunity for the accumulated response against the AKP not to be trapped within the limits of the social order.
Our party will act with the belief that the opportunity caught will be well evaluated for the accumulated responses against imperialism, reaction, and exploitation to be transformed into a real political energy, avoiding premature judgments, and avoiding any platform where the well-established principles and values are blurred or trivialized.
In today’s conditions, positioning against the AKP government resolutely, while clearly distinguishing from the opposition of the order that carries a pro-NATO, right-wing, and market-oriented character, will not be possible in the presidential elections where only two people are ultimately voted, yet will be possible in the parliamentary elections.
Having left-wing parties that have the qualification to enter the elections to be listed under their own names but under an alliance umbrella on the ballot will help socialist thought and action, which has been unjustly criticized for being marginal for years, to rise up.
We believe that our call will be heard, and we can organize hope and solutions together for our working people.
