The Foreign Ministry published a statement today for the 73rd anniversary of our country’s accession to NATO. In the statement, it is claimed that at a time when the future of Euro-Atlantic security is being shaped, Turkey with its allies continue to contribute to international stability today as in the past.
But, is this really the case?
NATO provides international stability, and Turkey contributes to it as a NATO member, is that right?
We can also ask the question as such: Is NATO an organisation that brings stability to countries in trouble, to their peoples and workers, or is it a criminal organisation?
Too many examples, past and present, prove that NATO stands not for stability, but for crisis, and not for security, but as a threat.
NATO was founded in 1949 in line with the expansionist policies of US imperialism against the socialist world that had defeated fascism. Since then, in many countries, it has intervened internally and externally against the organised struggles of the working classes all over the world. It has violated the national sovereignty. It organised coups, conducted assassinations, directed the drug trade. It worked for the interests of international monopolies and the capitalist classes of the countries, sometimes as an armed war machine, other times as a political and ideological war machine.
NATO did not stop its aggression even after the disintegration of the Soviet Union. It tore apart Yugoslavia, it invaded Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. It caused the deaths of many people in its operations all over the world. Lastly, it openly supported Israel’s massacres in Palestine and was an important actor in the international operation that led to the disintegration of Syria.
NATO is for this reason a criminal organisation and an international security problem.
NATO is also a security threat for Turkey. All their military bases in our territory, especially the İncirlik Airbase, all their weapons and soldiers are the most tangible manifestations of this threat.
NATO must be opposed. NATO’s legitimacy must be questioned. We must withdraw from NATO.
The Foreign Ministry may be proud of Turkey’s 73 year membership in NATO. However, the time our country has been a member of this criminal organisation, which protects the interests of monopolies and imperialist centres, has been too long.
Our Party does not just oppose NATO, it continuously fights for its expulsion from these lands.
We will definitely have a country without NATO. A Turkey, free from the intervention of the imperialists, no longer a part of their operations, bringing peace, friendship and equality to the working classes of the region, will definitely be NATO-free.

Necesitamos una Turquía sin la OTAN.
El Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores ha publicado hoy un comunicado con motivo del 73.º aniversario de la adhesión de nuestro país a la OTAN.
En dicho comunicado, se afirma que, en un período en el que se está definiendo el futuro de la seguridad euroatlántica, Turquía sigue contribuyendo a la estabilidad internacional junto a sus aliados, tal como lo ha hecho en el pasado.
Pero, ¿es realmente así?
¿La OTAN garantiza la seguridad internacional y Turquía, como miembro, contribuye a ello?
También podríamos formular la pregunta de otra manera: ¿la OTAN es una organización que lleva estabilidad a los países con problemas, a sus pueblos y a sus trabajadores?, ¿o más bien es una organización criminal?
Los innumerables ejemplos del pasado y del presente demuestran que la OTAN no representa estabilidad, sino crisis; no representa seguridad, sino amenaza.
La OTAN fue fundada en 1949 para enfrentar al mundo socialista que había derrotado al fascismo, al servicio de las políticas expansionistas del imperialismo estadounidense. Desde entonces, ha intervenido, tanto desde dentro como desde fuera, en las luchas organizadas de la clase obrera en numerosos países. Ha violado la soberanía de los Estados, organizado golpes de Estado, orquestado asesinatos y dirigido el tráfico de drogas. Ha funcionado, ya sea mediante la fuerza militar o a través de la manipulación política e ideológica, como una máquina de guerra al servicio de los intereses de los monopolios internacionales y de las clases dominantes de los distintos países.
Tras la disolución de la Unión Soviética, la OTAN no detuvo su agresión. Desmembró Yugoslavia, ocupó Afganistán, Irak y Libia. Sus operaciones en todo el mundo han costado la vida a innumerables personas. Más recientemente, ha apoyado abiertamente las masacres de Israel en Palestina y ha sido un actor clave en la intervención internacional que ha llevado al colapso de Siria.
Por ello, la OTAN es una organización criminal y un problema de seguridad internacional.
La OTAN también es una amenaza para Turquía. Las bases militares en nuestro territorio, en particular la de Incirlik, así como las armas y tropas extranjeras estacionadas en ellas, representan la manifestación más concreta de este peligro.
Es necesario oponerse a la OTAN. Su legitimidad debe ser cuestionada. Turquía debe salir de la OTAN.
El Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores puede sentirse orgulloso de estos 73 años de membresía en la OTAN. Sin embargo, la permanencia de nuestro país en esta organización, que protege los intereses de los monopolios, de los grandes empresarios y de los centros imperialistas, ya se ha prolongado demasiado.
Nuestro partido no solo se opone a la OTAN, sino que lucha ininterrumpidamente para expulsarla de estas tierras.
Tendremos un país sin la OTAN.
Una Turquía libre de la intervención imperialista, que no forme parte de sus operaciones y que lleve paz, amistad e igualdad a las clases trabajadoras de la región será, sin duda, una Turquía sin la OTAN.

НАМ НУЖНА ТУРЦИЯ БЕЗ НАТО
Министерство иностранных дел опубликовало сегодня заявление по случаю 73-й годовщины вступления Турции в НАТО. В заявлении утверждается, что Турция с союзниками была и будет вносить свой вклад в международную стабильность в период, когда будет формироваться будущее евроатлантической системы.
Так ли это на самом деле?
НАТО обеспечивает международный мир, Турция же, как член НАТО, вносит свой вклад в нее.
Мы можем поставить вопрос следующим образом: приносит ли НАТО стабильость народам и трудящимся стран, находящимся в беде или это террористическая организация?
Бесчисленное множество примеров в прошлом и в настоящем времени показывают нам, что НАТО означает кризис, а не стабильность, угрозу, а не безопасность.
НАТО был основан в 1949 году, в соответствии с экспансионной политикой американского империализма, против социалистического мира, победившего фашизм. С дня своего основания эта организация вмешивалась в организованную борьбу рабочих классов внутри или извне. Она нарушала право стран на суверенитет. Она организовывала путчи, покушалась на жизни, управляла торговцами наркотиков. Она работала, в качестве политической и идеологической военной машины, защищающей интересы международных монополий и капиталистов.
НАТО не прекратила свою агрессивность и после распада СССР. Она развалила НАТО, оккупировала Афганистан, Ирак и Ливию. В результате ее деятельности по всему миру погибло множество людей. Наконец, она открыто поддерживала массовые убийства Израиля в Палестине и была ключевым участником международной операции, которая привела к падению правительства Сирии.
По этой причине, НАТО – это преступная организация и проблема международной безопасности.
НАТО является проблемой безопасности для Турции. Все военные базы на нашей территории, особенно база Инджирлик, их оружие и солдаты здесь – наиболее конкретная форма этой угрозы.
Необходимо противостоять НАТО. Легитимность НАТО должна быть поставлена под сомнение. Страна должна быть выведена из НАТО.
Министерство может гордиться 73-летним членством в НАТО. Однако период, в течение которого наша страна была членом этой преступной организации, защищающей интересы монополий, крупных капиталистов и империалистических центров, длится очень долго.
Наша партия не только выступает против НАТО, но и борется за изгнание этой организации с этих земель.
У нас обязательно будет страна без НАТО. Турция станет страной далекой от международных дел империалистов, их операций. Наша страна будет нести мир, дружбу и равенство рабочим классам региона. У нас обязательно будет страна без НАТО.
