To the 35 Capitalists from Turkey Listed Among the World’s Billionaires

Your names have appeared in a recent list published by an international financial magazine.
The Turkish edition ran the list under the headline: “Billionaire Turks”, noting that “The total wealth of the 35 Turks on the billionaires list stands at $79.5 billion. This is a record.”
Some of you are members of the same family; others are business partners.
Upon closer examination, this immense wealth is concentrated in just 23 holdings, partnerships, or families. In a country of 86 million people, roughly 30 individuals from 14 wealthy families now rank among the richest billionaires in the world.
We are not writing to congratulate you, nor to demand anything.
We are writing to confront you with facts you can no longer conceal and to remind you of a few realities.
Turkey’s gross national income reached approximately $1.322 trillion in 2024 — a substantial figure. Divided by the population, that results in a per capita income of about $15,000. The government boasts that “Turkey is now a high-income country by World Bank standards.”
There is, in fact, a high income -but the working class sees little of it. While millions struggle with poverty, your small group of ultra-wealthy business owners possesses more wealth than the combined annual income of 40 million people in Turkey. This doesn’t even include the undisclosed sums you’ve tucked away in offshore accounts.
You have a favorite government official — the AKP’s Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek. For nearly two years, he has overseen an austerity program that has hit working people hard. The population has grown poorer. The minimum wage fell below the poverty line just three months after it was set. Pensions for retirees barely qualify as handouts. And every year, thousands of workers are killed in workplace homicides while you accumulate ever more wealth.
How is it that your fortunes grow, even as workers grow poorer, workers die, and millions face a future clouded by uncertainty? Yes, the Turkish economy is growing -but the fruits of that growth are divided among a select few. Your companies continue to post record profits. Government incentives flow uninterrupted in your direction. Tax exemptions and privileges for your businesses show no sign of stopping.
This is inequality on a staggering scale. This is injustice at its core. What creates this inequality and injustice is the exploitation that prevails in Turkey thanks to you. You have established a system in which people exploit people, and a handful of families like yours have seized the country’s resources through various means—and now you are enjoying its benefits. To put it more clearly: the billions of dollars in wealth that are widely publicized in the press represent riches created by the sweat and labor of Turkey’s working class.
In our eyes, the greatest crime is the exploitation of people by people -and you are responsible for this crime.
The working class will reclaim the wealth it has created.
Everything that you have taken will be returned to the people who earned it.
And when this system of exploitation and plunder is finally dismantled, the wealth of this country will belong equally to those who built it.
Only then will justice and equality truly prevail in Turkey.

A los 35 integrantes de la lista de Multimillonarios en Dólares procedentes de Turquía

Vimos vuestros nombres en la lista publicada este año por una revista económica internacional. En la edición turca, la lista fue presentada bajo el título “Los turcos multimillonarios en dólares”. Justo debajo se leía: “La fortuna total de los 35 turcos en la lista de multimillonarios asciende a 79,5 mil millones de dólares. Es un récord”.
Hay quienes sois de la misma familia, quienes compartís sociedades. Es decir, si se observa de cerca, los verdaderos propietarios de esta riqueza son 23 holdings, socios o familias. En un país de 86 millones de personas, formáis parte de las familias de 14 grandes fortunas y con poco más de 30 nombres os encontráis entre los multimillonarios en dólares más ricos del mundo.
Que no se malinterprete: no escribimos esta carta para felicitaros ni para pediros nada. Escribimos para recordaros ciertas cosas y enfrentaros con una realidad que ya no podéis seguir ocultando.
El ingreso nacional total de Turquía en 2024 alcanzó aproximadamente 1 billón 322 mil millones. Una cifra elevada. Dividiendo este ingreso entre la población del país, se obtiene una renta anual per cápita de 15.000 dólares. El AKP anunció con orgullo que “según los criterios del Banco Mundial, Turquía ya forma parte de los países de renta alta”. Sí, hay ingresos altos. Pero poco de esos ingresos llega a los trabajadores. En cambio, la fortuna de unos pocos ricos propietarios de holdings, entre los que estáis vosotros, supera los ingresos totales de 40 millones de personas que viven en Turquía. Y eso sin contar lo que no se declara, lo que se amontona en cuentas bancarias en el extranjero.
Tenéis a un ministro que os gusta mucho. El ministro de Hacienda y Finanzas del AKP, Mehmet Şimşek. Lleva casi dos años aplicando un programa de austeridad. Y el coste de este programa para la clase obrera ha sido altísimo. La gente se ha empobrecido. El salario mínimo cayó por debajo del umbral de pobreza en apenas tres meses. Mejor ni hablemos de las pensiones que se otorgan como limosna a los jubilados. Y mientras vosotros acumuláis esas fortunas, cada año perdemos a miles de hermanos trabajadores en “accidentes laborales”.
¿Cómo puede ser que, mientras el pueblo se empobrece, los trabajadores mueren en sus centros de trabajo y millones de personas ya no puedan ver su futuro, vosotros sigáis enriqueciéndoos? La economía turca crece. Pero ese pastel en crecimiento solo lo compartís entre vosotros, unos pocos ricos. Las empresas de las que sois socios o propietarios siguen anunciando beneficios y ganancias récord. Las subvenciones estatales os llegan sin interrupción. Las exenciones fiscales y privilegios que se otorgan a vuestras empresas no se acaban nunca.
Existe una profunda desigualdad e injusticia. Y quienes han creado esta desigualdad e injusticia sois vosotros, que habéis instaurado en Turquía un sistema basado en la explotación. Habéis montado y disfrutáis de un orden en el que el ser humano explota al ser humano, y unos pocos como vosotros se apropian por diferentes medios de todos los recursos del país. Para hablar claro: esa fortuna de miles de millones de dólares que los medios anuncian a bombo y platillo representa una riqueza creada con el sudor de los trabajadores de Turquía.
Desde nuestro punto de vista, el mayor crimen es la explotación del ser humano por otro ser humano. Y vosotros estáis cometiendo ese gran crimen.
Sabed que la clase obrera y los trabajadores recuperarán la riqueza que ellos mismos han creado y que vosotros habéis confiscado y acumulado. Y sabed también que cuando vuestro orden de saqueo y explotación llegue a su fin, todas las riquezas de Turquía serán compartidas equitativamente por el pueblo trabajador. Solo entonces alcanzaremos una Turquía en la que realmente reinen la justicia y la igualdad.

35 миллиардеров из Турции в списке долларовых богачей

Мы увидели ваши имена в опубликованном в этом году списке одного международного экономического журнала. В турецкой версии журнала список вышел под заголовком: «Турецкие долларовые миллиардеры». Ниже было написано: «Общее состояние 35 турецких миллиардеров — 79,5 миллиарда долларов. Это рекорд».
Среди вас есть представители одних и тех же семей, компаньоны по бизнесу. То есть, если присмотреться к списку, вы — 23 холдинга, партнёра или семьи, владеющие этим состоянием. В стране с населением 86 миллионов вы, чуть больше 30 человек из 14 богатейших семей, входите в число самых состоятельных долларовых миллиардеров мира.
Не поймите нас неправильно — мы не пишем вам, чтобы поздравить или что-то просить. Мы пишем, чтобы напомнить вам о некоторых вещах и показать: вы больше не можете прятаться.
В 2024 году национальный доход Турции составил примерно 1 триллион 322 миллиарда долларов. Это большая сумма. Если разделить её на всё население, получится около 15 тысяч долларов на человека. Партия справедливости и развития (ПСР) заявила: «По критериям Всемирного банка Турция теперь относится к странам с высоким уровнем дохода». Доход действительно высокий. Но рабочих он почти не касается. А вот ваше состояние — состояния горстки владельцев холдингов — превышает совокупный доход 40 миллионов человек в стране. И это мы ещё не учитываем то, что скрыто или хранится в офшорах.
У вас есть любимый министр экономики — министр казначейства и финансов от ПСР Мехмет Шимшек. Вот уже почти два года он проводит программу «экономии». Цена этой программы для трудового народа — огромна. Люди обеднели. Минимальная зарплата уже через три месяца оказалась ниже черты бедности. О пенсиях, похожих на милостыню, и говорить не хочется. А пока вы накапливали богатства, тысячи наших братьев по классу ежегодно погибали на производстве.
Но как же так выходит, что пока народ беднеет, рабочие гибнут, миллионы теряют надежду — вы становитесь всё богаче? Экономика Турции растёт. А весь «пирог» делится только между вами, кучкой богачей. Компании, в которых вы акционеры или владельцы, продолжают объявлять о рекордных прибылях. Государственные субсидии льются к вам рекой. Налоговые льготы и привилегии для ваших корпораций не иссякают.
Перед нами вопиющая несправедливость. Эту несправедливость порождает система эксплуатации, установленная в Турции при вашем участии. Вы выстроили порядок, при котором горстка семей, вроде вашей, завладела всеми ресурсами страны. И наслаждаетесь им. Если говорить прямо — эти миллиарды, о которых пишет пресса, на самом деле представляют собой богатство, созданное потом и трудом рабочих Турции.
С нашей точки зрения, величайшее преступление — это эксплуатация человека человеком. И вы совершаете это преступление.
Да будет вам известно: рабочий класс, трудящиеся вернут себе богатства, которые они сами создали, но которыми вы завладели. И знайте: когда закончится ваш порядок грабежа и эксплуатации, все богатства Турции будут справедливо распределены среди трудящихся. Вот тогда в стране воцарится подлинная справедливость и равенство.
