Two years ago, right after the February 6 earthquake in which tens of thousands of our citizens lost their lives, we said, “Let’s do our best and get rid of this social system as soon as possible.” Buildings might not have collapsed in the earthquake; search, rescue and aid operations could have been carried out much better afterwards, and the loss of life could have been minimized.
Unfortunately, we were enslaved by the money and irrationality; thus cities were destroyed and humanity was left under the rubble.
Our country and our people did not deserve this.
Then we experienced floods, which stemmed from plundering and the lack of planning. We could not protect our forests from fires and the greed of construction companies.
Private hospitals killed our babies. “Free enterprise” put poison and fraudulent products on our table as food.
Hunger, poverty and unemployment were the main concerns of the majority of our citizens. Workers, civil servants and retirees were unable to breathe.
Then we experienced the fire. Because of a chain of negligence caused by the greed for profit and the bourgeoisie-loving authorities, the hotel was engulfed in flames, and there was a delay in responding to the fire due to the lack of rationality and planning. Our people had to choose between “dying by burning or falling from meters high.”
They are now looking for someone to blame, asking and arguing, “Who has the authority, who gave permission for this hotel?”
And we say again, “We need to get rid of this social system as soon as possible.”
This is a call for duty.
If our party organizes protests themed “We have an objection”, if it knocks at the door of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism after the fire in Kartalkaya, if it organizes meetings all over Turkey, if it makes moves to organize more people, it has only one purpose: TO CREATE A COUNTRY WORTH LIVING IN.
When the Communist Party of Turkey was founded on September 10, 1920, the struggle for an INDEPENDENT COUNTRY was our priority. Even before this date, the communists had undertaken difficult tasks in the struggle against occupation in many cities, especially in İstanbul. They had raided the British police stations, provided weapons and ammunition for the War of Independence, and organised strikes.
The first leaders of our party, Mustafa Suphi and 15 of our comrades, were cowardly killed on January 28, 1921, while they were in this struggle.
If we do not blush after 104 years, if we say, “So proudly we are the members of the Communist Party of Turkey” despite our mistakes and shortcomings, we owe this to the many communists who dedicated their lives to the people.
Citizens,
This is not Turkey, it should not be. “We have an objection” to this picture. Screaming is despair; we are not desperate, we are not screaming, we are calling out.
Turkey cannot be ruled. Turkey’s judiciary, finance, agriculture, foreign policy, education and health cannot be governed. Turkey is adrift.
Unlike some opponents, TKP does not see only the government, the AKP as the source of the problem. The AKP and Erdoğan are responsible, but there are reasons why this party has been able to stay in power for more than 20 years despite all the discontent and reaction. During the AKP’s rule in Turkey, large holdings have made enormous profits while the country has been left with unlimited and unbridled exploitation and plunder. The government is guilty of managing this process and launching a severe attack on secularism and republican values in order to manage this process. Yet the question remains: Can Turkey get out of trouble without settling accounts with the system of holdings and religious order? All the parties that answer “yes” to this question are lying.
This country should not be adrift but be ruled.
Turkey must be ruled with a statist economy. Because the market economy serves private interests, causing a small minority to accumulate enormous wealth while the vast majority of the population is exploited and impoverished.
Turkey must be ruled with a planned economy. Because planning means using resources equally and productively in the light of the needs of science and society.
In Turkey, secularism must be achieved in politics and public spheres. Freedom of belief and worship is a fundamental human right and cannot be touched. Secularism, on the other hand, is the removal of religious beliefs from the state and political spheres. There is no other definition of secularism than this. This country has such a strong enlightenment background that will not allow the nonsense of learning what secularism is from the followers of religious orders.
Turkey must be independent. Turkey must withdraw from NATO and foreign bases in the country must be closed. Turkey must protect its lands, not allow any discussion of its current borders, and get rid of irresponsible rulers who covet other countries’ lands and make pro-conquest speeches.
Turkey must be democratic. The people must participate in government and decision-making processes, the politics must cease to be a profession and a privilege, the Parliament must be a people’s platform where our producing, creating and working citizens are represented, and there must be no power left over it.
These are the basic features of the Socialist Turkey that the communists aim for. We will reach such a country through the efforts of the working class, of the laboring people, of the poor peasants, and of the working class patriots and socialist intellectuals.
Not in some unknown future. But as soon as possible.
TKP calls on our people to trust themselves and their country.
This is not Turkey. It should not be.
A handful of exploiters, money-mongers, religious order sheikhs and political brokers cannot represent Turkey. The conscientious, honest, working majority of this country must stand up and say, “I want my country.”
Citizens,
Some say that “TKP abuses earthquakes, fires and floods”! No, TKP does not want our people to die.
Some say that “TKP is using hunger and poverty for its own benefit”! No, TKP wants hunger and poverty to be eliminated.
There were also communists in the founding of this country. We do not find this picture that emerged after the great struggle for independence and the Republic appropriate for ourselves or our country.
Some people are said to be surprised, some are said to be angry at that the Turkish flag is raised during TKP’s protests. Let us make a note here since it has come to the fore once again: That flag is an expression of our respect for the struggle of a century ago, of our working class patriotism, of our trust in this country, our people and the future. We will never lower that flag.
We also have read comments such as, “TKP gave the right response although the customers in the burning hotel were predominantly wealthy people.” We feel so sad. Do some really think we would not be affected by the tragedy experienced by our fellow citizens who were on holiday with their families because of the fact that we are fighting to eliminate inequality and injustice and because we are furious with the capitalist class? The struggle does not make us insensitive people; on the contrary, we are more affected by what we experience.
The workers at the hotel died in the fire, as did the customers, some of whom had got into debt money and brought their children on holiday. Being a party of the working class didn’t lead us to distribute our sorrow unequally. We have left a carnation in our hearts for each of our deceased citizens.
We will work harder so that our people do not die this way.
Now, with even greater strength, we call on the workers to join the Communist Party of Turkey and to come together with their class fellows in our Party. You produce, you work day and night, and in return you remain poor. No, we will produce and rule.
We call on our country’s scientists, artists and working class patriotic intellectuals to prepare for a livable Turkey, and to use our creativity for a country where equality, fraternity, freedom and abundance reign, rather than a country that is adrift and misruled. We will get this country back on its feet with a collective understanding, not an individual one. This is our claim and our will.
If they cannot rule the country, we are the people, we can rule ourselves!

Hace dos años, inmediatamente después del terremoto del 6 de febrero, en el que perdimos a decenas de miles de compatriotas, dijimos: “Hagamos todo lo posible, acabemos con este sistema lo antes posible.” Los edificios podrían no haberse derrumbado, las labores de rescate y ayuda podrían haberse llevado a cabo mucho mejor, y las pérdidas humanas podrían haberse reducido al mínimo.
Lamentablemente, éramos prisioneros del dinero y la insensatez; las ciudades habían quedado reducidas a escombros, y la humanidad se había quedado atrapada bajo los escombros.
Nuestro país y nuestra gente no merecían esto.
Luego sufrimos inundaciones, producto del saqueo y la falta de planificación. No pudimos proteger nuestros bosques, ni del fuego ni de la codicia de las empresas constructoras.
Los hospitales privados mataron a nuestros bebés. La “libre empresa” puso veneno y productos fraudulentos en nuestra mesa.
El hambre, la pobreza y el desempleo eran los problemas principales de la gran mayoría de nuestros compatriotas. Trabajadores, funcionarios públicos y jubilados apenas podían respirar.
Después llegó el incendio. Debido a la cadena de negligencias causadas por la codicia y los oficiales serviles a la patronal, el hotel fue alcanzado por las llamas, y debido a la falta de sentido común y planificación, se retrasó la intervención en el incendio. Nuestra gente tuvo que decidir entre morir quemado o caer desde cientos de metros de altura.
Ahora buscan culpables, se preguntan y discuten: “¿Quién tenía la autoridad, quién dio el permiso a este hotel?”
Y nosotros decimos de nuevo: “Necesitamos acabar con este sistema lo antes posible.”
Este es un llamado a la acción.
Nuestro partido organiza acciones bajo el lema “Tenemos una objeción,” acude a las puertas del Ministerio de Cultura y Turismo después del incendio de Kartalkaya, organiza reuniones en toda Turquía e impulsa campañas de organización con un único objetivo: CREAR UN PAÍS DIGNO PARA VIVIR.
El 10 de septiembre de 1920, cuando se fundó el TKP, nuestra prioridad era la lucha por un PAÍS INDEPENDIENTE. Incluso antes de esa fecha, los comunistas asumieron tareas difíciles en la lucha contra la ocupación, principalmente en Estambul y otras ciudades. Asaltaron puestos de policia británicos, suministrarin armas y municiones para la Campaña Nacional, y organizaron huelgas.
Los primeros dirigentes de nuestro partido, Mustafa Suphi y 15 de nuestros camaradas, fueron traicioneramente asesinados el 28 de enero de 1921 mientras estaban inmersos en esta lucha.
104 años después, si no sentimos vergüenza y, a pesar de nuestros errores y deficiencias, podemos decir “Qué bien que somos del TKP,” se lo debemos a los innumerables comunistas que dedicaron sus vidas al pueblo.
Compatriotas,
Turquía no es esto, no debería serlo. Tenemos una objeción al panorama actual. Un grito es desesperación; no estamos desesperados, no estamos gritando, estamos alzando la voz.
Turquía no está siendo gobernada. Su sistema judicial, su economía, su agricultura, su política exterior, su educación, su salud, todo está siendo arrastrado.
El TKP no ve la raíz del problema únicamente en el gobierno o en el AKP, como hacen otros sectores opositores. El AKP y Erdoğan son responsables, pero hay razones por las cuales ese partido ha estado en el poder durante más de 20 años, a pesar de toda la insatisfacción y las protestas. Durante el gobierno del AKP, los grandes conglomerados han obtenido enormes beneficios, y Turquía ha quedado atrapada en una explotación y saqueo sin límites ni control. El gobierno es culpable porque ha dirigido este proceso y, para poder gestionarlo, ha lanzado un ataque severo contra la laicidad y los valores de la República. Pero la pregunta es: ¿Puede Turquía salir a flote sin enfrentarse al sistema de los conglomerados y las órdenes religiosas? Todos los partidos que responden “sí” a esta pregunta mienten.
Este país debe ser gobernado, no arrastrado.
Turquía debe ser administrada con una economía estatalista. Porque la economía de mercado sirve a intereses privados, permite que una pequeña minoría acumule riquezas enormes mientras la gran mayoría de la población es explotada y empobrecida.
Turquía debe ser administrada con una economía planificada. Porque planificar significa utilizar los recursos de manera equitativa y productiva, a la luz de la ciencia y las necesidades de la sociedad.
El laicismo debe establecerse en la política y el ámbito público de Turquía. La libertad de culto y creencias es un derecho humano fundamental, intocable. Pero el laicismo significa separar las creencias religiosas del ámbito estatal y político. No hay otra definición de laicismo que este. Este país tiene una herencia de ilustracionismo suficientemente fuerte para no permitir la insensatez de que las órdenes religiosas dicten qué es el laicismo.
Turquía debe ser independiente. Las bases extranjeras deben cerrarse, y Turquía debe salir de la OTAN. El país debe proteger su territorio, no permitir que se cuestionen sus fronteras actuales y deshacerse de los dirigentes irresponsables que sueñan con conquistar territorios de otros países.
Turquía debe ser democrática. El pueblo debe participar en la gestión y en los procesos de toma de decisiones. La política debe dejar de ser una profesión y un privilegio. El Parlamento debe ser un foro popular donde se represente a ciudadanos que producen, crean y trabajan, sin ninguna otra autoridad por encima de él.
Estas son las características fundamentales de la Turquía socialista que los comunistas aspiran a construir. Alcanzaremos este objetivo mediante los esfuerzos de la clase obrera, el pueblo trabajador, los campesinos empobrecidos, y los intelectuales patriotas y socialistas.
No en un futuro desconocido, sino en el menor tiempo posible.
El TKP llama a nuestro pueblo a confiar en sí mismo y en su país.
Turquía no es esto. No debería serlo.
Un puñado de explotadores, magnates del dinero, líderes de órdenes religiosos y mercaderes de la política no pueden representar a Turquía. La mayoría honesta, trabajadora y consciente de este país debe levantarse y decir: “Quiero mi país.”
Compatriotas,
Dicen que “el TKP explota el terremoto, el incendio y la inundación.” No, lo que el TKP quiere es que nuestro pueblo no muera.
Dicen que “el TKP instrumentaliza el hambre y la pobreza para su propio beneficio.” No, el TKP quiere erradicar el hambre y la pobreza.
En la fundación de este país también estuvieron presentes los comunistas. Después de la gran lucha por la independencia y la República, el panorama actual no encaja ni con nosotros ni con nuestro país.
Algunos se sorprenden y otros se enfurecen porque en las acciones del TKP se lleva la bandera turca. Dado que esto vuelve a ser un tema de debate, lo registramos aquí una vez más: esa bandera es expresión de respeto por la lucha de hace cien años, de nuestro patriotismo, de nuestra confianza en este país, en nuestro pueblo y en su futuro. No dejaremos caer esa bandera.
Hemos leído, también, comentarios que dicen: “Aunque los clientes del hotel eran en su mayoría personas acomodadas, el TKP reaccionó de manera adecuada.” Esto nos entristeció. ¿Acaso creen que, por nuestra lucha contra la desigualdad y la injusticia, no nos afectaría la tragedia vivida por nuestros compatriotas que estaban de vacaciones con sus familias? Nuestra lucha no nos insensibiliza; al contrario, lo que vivimos nos afecta aún más.
En el incendio, murieron tanto los trabajadores del hotel como los clientes que, en algunos casos, endeudandose llevaron a sus hijos de vacaciones. Somos el partido de la clase obrera, pero no por eso repartimos nuestro dolor de manera desigual. Por cada compatriota fallecido, hemos dejado un clavel en nuestro corazón.
Trabajaremos aún más para que nuestra gente no muera de esta manera.
Por ello, ahora con mayor fuerza, llamamos a los trabajadores a unirse al TKP, a encontrarse en nuestro partido con sus hermanos de clase. Producís, trabajáis día y noche y, a cambio, permanecéis pobres. No, produciremos y gobernaremos.
Llamamos a los científicos, artistas y los intelectuales patriotas de nuestro país, a prepararse por una Turquía digna de ser habitada, a utilizar nuestra creatividad no para un país arrastrado y no gobernado, sino para uno donde reinen la igualdad, la fraternidad, la libertad y la prosperidad. No con una mente individual, sino con una mentea colectiva, levantaremos este país. Esa es nuestra determinación y nuestro compromiso.

ЕСЛИ ОНИ НЕ МОГУТ УПРАВЛЯТЬ, МЫ НАРОД, МЫ СМОЖЕМ!
Два года назад, после землетрясения 6 февраля, вследствие которого погибли десятки тысяч граждан, мы сделали заявление: “Сделаем все, что в наших руках, спасемся от этой системы”. Здания могли не разрушиться при землетрясении, работы по спасению могли быть проведены лучше, жертвы могли быть сведены к минимуму.
К сожалению, мы были в плену денег и безумия, наши города разрушились, люди остались среди руин.
Наша страна и наш народ не заслуживали этого.
Потом мы испытали наводнения, которые были продуктом грабежа и отсутствия плана. Мы не смогли защитить наши леса от пожара и аппетитов строительных фирм.
Они убивали наших детей в частных больницах. “Свободный рынок” ставил на наши столы яд и искусственные продукты.
Голод, нищета и безработица стали основной проблемой для подавляющего большинства граждан. В этих условиях ни рабочие, ни госслужащие, ни пенсионеры не могли свободно дышать.
Потом начались пожары. В результате цепочки халатностей, из-за жажды прибыли и любви ответственных к владельцам капитала, пламя охватило отель, отсутствие планированной реакции сделало вмешательство пожарных поздним. Перед людьми встала альтернатива умереть от пожара или разбиться, выбросившись из окна.
Сейчас они ищут виновного, спрашивают “кто в ответе за это, кто дал разрешения этому отелю?”
Мы снова говорим: “Мы срочно должны спастись от этой системы”.
Это призыв к действию.
Наша партия проводит демонстрации с лозунгом “Я протестую”, выступает перед Министерством туризма и культуры после пожара в Карталкая, проводит собрания по всей Турции, делает шаги по организации людей только с одной целью. Эта цель – СОЗДАТЬ СТРАНУ, В КОТОРОЙ МОЖНО ЖИТЬ!
Нашим приоритетом 10 сентября 1920 года, когда была основана КПТ, была борьба за НЕЗАВИСИМУЮ СТРАНУ. И до этой даты коммунисты, в основном в Стамбуле и в других городах, принимали сложные задания в борьбе против оккупации. Они захватывали участки английских гарнизонов, отправляли оружие и боеприпасы Национальной Борьбе, организовывали стачки.
Первые руководители нашей партии, Мустафа Супхи и 15 наших товарищей, были зверски убиты 28 января 1921 года, в ходе этой борьбы.
Если спустя 104 года мы не стесняемся нашего прошлого, вопреки нашим ошибкам и минусам мы говорим, “хорошо, что мы члены КПТ”, это благодаря множеству коммунистов, пожертвовавшим свои жизни народу.
Граждане,
это не Турция, она не должна быть такой. Мы “протестуем” против этого. Крик – это беспомощность; мы не беспомощны, мы не кричим, мы взываем.
Турция не управляема. Право, финансы, сельхоз, внешняя политика, образование, здравоохранение не управляемы. Они идут по течению.
КПТ не видит в корне всех проблем правительство Эрдогана, подобно некоторым оппозиционерам. Да, Эрдоган и его партия ответственны, однако есть иные причины, по которым эта партия, несмотря на все недовольство и реакции, остается у власти уже более 20 лет. В период правления ПСР большие концерны получили огромную прибыль, Турция осталась наедине с безграничной эксплуатацией и грабежом. Власть ответственна, так как она управляла этим процессом, и проводила нападки на секуляризм и Республику, чтобы довести этот процесс до конца. Однако вопрос стоит так: может ли Турция восстановится без осуждения порядка конгломератов и сект? Все партии, отвечающие на это “да” – врут.
Эта страна должна управляться, а не идти по течению.
Турция должна управляться государственной экономикой. Потому, что рынок служит частным интересам, он причина того, что маленькая кучка набирает большие капиталы, а большинство населения беднеет от эксплуатации.
Турция должна управляться плановой экономикой. Потому, что план — значит использование ресурсов в свете науки и требований общества на равной и продуктивной основе.
В Турции должен быть установлен секуляризм в политике и обществе. Свобода вероисповедания – является одним из неприкосновенных и основных прав человека. Секуляризация означает удаление религиозной веры из государства и политики. Нет другого определения секуляризма, кроме этого. У этой страны есть богатая и сильная традиция просвещения, чтобы не учится секуляризму от сектантов.
Турция должна быть независимой. Базы иностранцев должны быть закрыты, мы должны выйти из НАТО. Турция должна защищать свои земли; она не должна допускать обсуждения существующих границ; она должна избавиться от безответственных правителей, которые жаждут территории других стран и произносят завоевательные речи.
Турция должна быть демократической. Народ должен участвовать в управлении и в принятии решений, политика и профессии не должны быть источником привилегий, парламент должен быть народной трибуной для производящих, работающих граждан, и не должно быть не одной силой над парламентом.
Вот основные черты социалистической Турции, которая является целью коммунистов. Мы достигнем такой страны усилиями рабочего класса, трудящихся, бедных крестьян, патриотической и социалистической интеллигенции.
Не в неизвестном будущем, а в ближайшем периоде.
КПТ призывает народ к доверию к себе и стране.
Это не Турция. Она не должна быть этим.
Кучка эксплуататоров, богатеев, шейхов сект и политиканов не могут представлять Турцию. Сознательное, честное, работающее большинство этой страны должно встать и сказать: «Я хочу свою страну».
Граждане,
Говорят: “Почему КПТ пользуется пожарами, наводнениями?”. Нет, КПТ хочет, чтобы наш народ не умирал.
Говорят, что “КПТ пользуется голодом и нищетой в своих интересах”. Нет, КПТ хочет ликвидировать голод и нищету.
Коммунисты тоже внесли свою лепту в основание страны. Картина, сложившаяся после великой борьбы за независимость и Республику, не устраивает ни нас, ни нашу страну.
Некоторые люди были удивлены, а некоторые возмущены тем, что на демонстрациях КПТ есть турецкий флаг. Мы отмечаем его здесь, потому что Флаг снова стоит на повестке дня: Этот флаг – выражение уважения к борьбе столетней давности, нашего патриотизма, нашей уверенности в этой стране, нашем народе и будущем. Мы не спустим флаг.
Мы также сталкиваемся с такими комментарии, как “КПТ отреагировала правильно, хотя клиентами отеля были преимущественно состоятельные люди”. Мы огорчены. Неужели мы думаем, что раз мы боремся за устранение неравенства и несправедливости и гневно выступаем против класса капиталистов, то нас не затронет трагедия наших сограждан, отправляющихся на отдых с семьями? Борьба не делает нас бесчувственными, наоборот, мы сильнее переживаем то, что испытываем.
В огне погибли рабочие, работавшие в отеле, а также клиенты, некоторые из которых привезли на отдых своих детей, заняв деньги в долг. Мы не стали распределять наше горе неравномерно поскольку мы – партия рабочего класса. Мы оставили гвоздику в наших сердцах для каждого погибшего гражданина.
Мы будем работать еще усерднее, чтобы наши люди не умирали так.
Теперь уже с большей силой, мы зовем рабочих в КПТ, чтобы они встретились со своими братьями и сестрами по классу в нашей партии. Вы производите, работаете день и ночь, а в ответ остаетесь нищими. Нет; мы будем производить и управлять страной.
Мы призываем людей науки, искусства и патриотически настроенных интеллектуалов нашей страны подготовиться к созданию Турции, где можно жить и использовать наши творческие способности для создания страны, где царят равенство, братство, свобода и изобилие, вместо неуправляемой страны, идущей по течению. Мы поднимем эту страну коллективным, а не индивидуальным разумом. Таково наше требование и воля.
